Artwork description:

Butterflies are magical creatures - evolving from caterpillars to colourful winged insects. But they do more than just adding colour and beauty to our environment. They play a role in increasing biodiversity and pollination. Butterflies represent the essence of nature and have been painted by many artists down through the years, e.g. Van Gogh who did a whole series of butterfly paintings. I wanted to create a peaceful scene here – with butterflies twirling in freedom and bringing delight to the viewer with their delicate beauty.

Biography:

I am a graphic designer originally from Galway but living in Lucan for the past 25 years. I have worked for many years as both a freelance designer and an in-house designer. I do much of my work digitally - posters, computer illustrations, photo retouching, and PowerPoint presentations. As well as digital work, I also hand-paint murals (interior and exterior), window designs, and signwriting projects.
