May has been designated as No Mow May all over the world. So we’re surrounded by long grasses and wild flowers everywhere - on verges, roundabouts and in designated communal areas of parks and estates. Many people are leaving segments of their own garden to grow wild also. Our attitudes towards mowing lawns are changing and this shift is key in providing a lifeline for biodiversity, butterflies and bees. My design depicts a selection of wildflowers, in bright, earthy colours. It’s a comment on the beauty of the wildflowers that surround us in our local area.
I am a graphic designer originally from Galway but living in Lucan for 24 years. I have worked many years as both a freelance designer and an in-house designer, but in recent years focused on raising my family. I specialise in print design – posters, computer illustrations, as well as photo retouching and PowerPoint illustrations. I am also very passionate about gardening and nature, and a lot of my work features elements of nature.
