Having grown up in this area of Glasnevin myself, I know it’s a great school district, so I wanted to create a visual reminder to the children – and there’s a child in us all! – to take a few moments out of the hustle and bustle of the day to be still with and listen to the world and to themselves. The words I have included are lines from a children’s Mindfulness poem I wrote for my kids called “Good Morning, My Love”
As a Mother, Artist, Art Psychotherapist and Montessorian, I am interested in the magical mundane moments of childhood and how as adults we can help children use these moments to nurture positive self-esteem and connection to the world, a concept which is filtered through every part of my life. I have a BA in Visual Arts Practice from IADT, a Diploma in Montessori Education from Dorset College, a Diploma in Art Psychotherapy from Dublin Art Therapy College and will complete my BA in Integrative Counselling and Art Therapy from DATC and IT Carlow in June 2021.
