Artwork description:

St Michaels School, Kylemore Road or Disco Tree, Kylemore Road, Ballyfermot. These are two locations I drive past daily on my way to teach in my own school. Gráinne Mhaol is an important Irish heroine who all school children learn about, and a great example of assertiveness. I feel the pirate imagery will appeal to children and will cause them to question and read more about Grainne and other Irish heros .

Biography:

I am a teacher for children with special educational needs by day and an artist by night! I love bright and pastel colours and am particularly interested in folklore, and reimagining our hero’s in modern constructs. I am originally from Belfast.
