‘Visit Deerpark honours the history of Mount Merrion - a thriving picturesque community with a stunning sprawling 32 acre public park at the heart of it. Built by the 5th Viscount FitzWilliam as a walled enclosure for deer in 1711, the park boasts magnificent views of the city and Dublin Bay. Though the deer are long gone - the woodlands, fields, views and iconic rocks are still enjoyed by the community today. The retro-polygon style poster ‘Visit Deerpark’ was inspired by living in Stillorgan enjoying this amenity and the 19th century paintings of Mount Merrion by William Ashford.
