Artwork description:

For this piece, I was inspired by two things. One was my own experience of waiting for a bus on a sunny day, when suddenly out of nowhere, it began to rain. I luckily enough always bring my trust umbrella. The second piece that inspired me was a scene from the award-winning, Ghibli animated movie, My Neighbour Totoro. The two young sisters wait alongside Totoro at the bus stop while it pours rain. I’ve always loved this scene, and it sparked some inspiration for this piece.

Biography:

Laura O’Donnell is an Irish illustrator, originally from the west of Ireland, Mayo, she now is currently based in Dublin. Laura’s focus in her art is bright and whimsical scenes. Having studied Animation in BCFE College, Laura wishes to tell a story through imagery and get people thinking.
