This piece is based on the great liberties whiskey fire of 1875, where on the night of June 18th thousands of barrels of whiskey ignited in warehouses off Ardee St. It flowed through the streets and threatened much of the city. Was it not for the ingenuity of Fire Chief Ingram, the fire would have raged out of control.
I am a Firefighter/Advanced Paramedic with Dublin Fire Brigade. As an artist, I work mostly with hand-cut stencils and spray paint. I have previously painted three pieces for the Dublin Canvas Project.
