Like myself, Irish legend Ronnie Drew was born and raised in Dun Laoghaire and lived locally for many years. I was very surprised to find this out after my research about the area and would look to make it more widely known that he is from the area, while also paying homage and respect to an iconic figure of Irish and Dublin culture. While sporting his famous orange glasses, Ronnie also has an infectious smile on his face in the artwork. This paired with the bright colours and shapes aim to put a smile on the face of the local people as a testament to the joy that Ronnie spread to the people of Ireland during his career. Not only through his music but also through his colourful personality.
Painting pretty much anything, in order to better understand the subject and improve my own artistic abilities, I am a self-taught artist from Dun Laoghaire with an unquenchable desire to improve my own artistic abilities. I revel in projects that include landscapes, portraits, abstract shapes and colours, digital design and, where he produces his best work, in large-scale murals. Typically using black and white with bold dashes and splashes of colour, the designs are heavily influenced by street art and look to use this influence to provide a somewhat urban perspective on more traditonal pieces of artwork
