Artwork description:

This signal box is opposite Markievicz Park. My design is an image of Countess Markievicz herself. I’m focusing on her not as a political figure but as a symbol of feminine strength and resilience. I’ve used a graphic, modern style because her quotes are still relevant to women today.

Biography:

I’m an Irish artist living and working in Ballyfermot.I have a Degree in Fine Art and a hDip in Community Arts Education. I worked as a Community Arts Facilitator for over a decade but since 2017 I am working for myself taking art commissions. I have been very lucky to paint a number of boxes for Dublin Canvas in the past. I absolutely loved it and would be over the moon to paint another one.
