Artwork description:

This box is located outside a funeral home so I thought that a design about overcoming darkness and heading to a brighter tomorrow would be apt. It also speaks to how communities need to work together to overcome Coronavirus and aim for a brighter future. The design shows everyday Irish garden birds (representing everyday Irish people) working together to lift the blanket of night/darkness to reveal a bright new day.

Biography:

I’m an Irish artist living and working in Ballyfermot. I was delighted to get the opportunity to paint some boxes in Ballyfermot already and I would be over the moon to paint another one. I have a Degree in Fine Art and a hDip in Community Arts Education. I worked for over a decade as a Community Arts Facilitator but since 2017 I am working for myself, painting portraits of children and pets.
